"Low Tide"

Peaceful and relaxing is the feel I was striving for. Cool colors reinforce the feeling. Just enough warm colors for contrast. Painting the ropes and masts gave me fits though. It is hard to do on a painting this size.

Oil on linen panel 16" x 20"

Beautiful work, Ann... is this what my husband and I tore you away from the other day?

I stumbled upon your blog today and was intrigued by your paintings, “Low Tide” in particular. In this piece your skill level at handling the paint brush is evidently very high. The rendering of the boat is so delicate and beautiful. Also, I am curious about the “almost daily painting” phrase. Does this mean you complete a new painting (almost) every day? If so, how incredible it is that you have the time and the dedication to paint such wonderful pieces. I am also an artist and am always browsing online to find inspiration from other artists .
